There is no such thing as a universal solution. Every company is unique and therefore every website will be unique.

Phase 1 - Initial Consultation

During the initial phase of designing your new website, a member of the STL Web Design team will meet with you to discuss your business needs. Below is a list of a few of the questions you will be asked. The answers you give will help us determine the right website solution for your business. (click here to download pdf)
  1. What do I want my website to do for my business?
  2. Do I want to sell products or services?
  3. Do I need to increase awareness about my products or services?
  4. Do I want to provide content and information on a specific topic?
  5. Do I want to service my existing customers more effectively?
  6. What is the profile of my target audience?
We often recommend to our clients the need to download the questionnaire and read through it. Maybe even take the time to answer the questions before your meeting with our representative. There is a lot more to building a website than just slapping up some pretty pictures and content.

Phase 2 - Cost Analysis

During the design process, our design team will review the website design questionnaire. The design team will help determine the layout of the site, the number of pages needed to maintain your content and any applications needed to create the functionality you want for your site. We will then put together a complete quote and time frame of the design process.

At this point, you have only invested your time. The initial consultation and quote are free of charge.

Phase 3 - Designing Your Site

Once you have contracted STL Web Design to create your website, we will start working on the new design layout. You will receive a proof based on the answers to your questionnaire. You will have up to 2 layout revisions for your proof.

It is very important that you are honest about what you love/hate about the design. We pride ourselves tremendously on creating the right layout the first time and then tweaking it to your specifications. Once you have approved the layout of your website, we will move on to adding the content to your site.

Phase 4 - Content... Almost Finished

It is your responsibility to get the content you want on your site to the STL Web Design team. YOU are the expert regarding your business. The faster you get the content to us, the faster we get the site live.

Phase 5 - Completion

Once your content has been added to the site, you will be given a link to view your completed website before it is displayed to public view. We also test every aspect of the site to make sure all the links work and any added functionality is working properly. When the site goes live, you have one week to continue testing, look for grammatical errors, etc. Within this one week period, we will make any fixes free of charge to you.
